First Posting!

Wow! I have never had a blog before, how exciting. I am not one for blogging regularly, but while my sister was in Belgium this summer for school she kept a blog and I learned how helpful and fun they can be. They are a great way to keep people up to date on what is happening in your life. Well what is happening in my life in this class is a lot of stress! I am not awesome with computers and sometimes it takes me reading someting 5+ times to realize and comprehend what I need to do. But I'm learning! I have also learned how helpful it will be to have all this knowledge in my future career as an educator. For this Module we had to watch a couple videos about technology in the classroom and in my High School we didn't use technology that much, besides writing papers, and emailing. But watching the videos of how students are using Google Docs in their classroom honestly made me jealous to be able to have so many people looking at your work and helping you make your work better is something I could only dream of having in High School. I think it is important as the next generation of teachers to use what we have learned in this course and integrate it in our classrooms in some sort of way. I found this video and was amazed by how fast technology has grown over the years and how much of an influence it is in people's lives. If you have time I would suggest watching it, it shocked me at some points to see how different the US was compared to other countries based on technology. Some things that I'm proud of myself in this class is how I can teach myself how to do something and actually do it right! I'm usually not great at teaching myself how to do something, but I think since it is technology and I'm interested in it I am excited to learn how to use all these interesting and exciting new tools.
